Fecal Face highlights local artist Meredith Dittmarr
By H-Dawg | February 7, 2010
The Local artist by the name of Meredith Dittmarr was recently interviewed in FECAL FACE. Meredith Dittmar creates clay type sculptures in very interesting displays, using premo polymer-clay and wire. She has a current show on N. Mississippi street here in Portland at a children’s store called Black Wagon, note that particular exhibit was meant for children and has a bit of a children’s theme set. She was also recently featured in the Nov ‘09 Portland Tribune, which you can check out here. Read her FECAL FACE interview here.

Never heard of Fecal Face?
Based on the name alone FECAL FACE seems like it might be a sight for pervs that have a poo fetish right? Or 40 yr old substitute teachers that want to see some fecal on some faces maybe? Nope. Sure…those types also enjoy the sight and are probably involved somehow, but you will not find any crap on this sight for sure. Fecal Face is always current, informative, and visually inviting. If ya got an old personal computer you may not be able to load up the ever so chaotically stimulating front page though. I go to the sight when I want a sure update on all that is worth noticing and esthetically appealing in the hip contemporary artist world. You can even close your eyes-click on anything on the whole page knowing that it will be interesting–that is my experience anyway. Fecal Face is always consistently entertaining with new art and artists’ works rolling in. I personally enjoy the studio visits, it’s like when you secretly look through windows as you walk by houses during a nightly stroll. Most of the artists involved with the sight also add music info and reviews along with pod casts and feeds to listen to curated by the artists themselves, so you can feel like you are enjoying their Sunday morning coffee right there with them as their BFF’s. Fecal Face is founded and edited by artist/photographer John Trippe. Whoa! Weird I just found a video of him explaining how he started F.F. which you can watch right here.
